Egyptian authorities have ordered the detention of the driver of the late popular singer Ismail al-Leithi for four days pending investigation. The decision came after a positive drug test result was confirmed following a car accident that led to al-Leithi's death in Minya province in the south of the country. Investigative authorities heard the driver's testimony and charged him with drug use. The investigation is ongoing to fully uncover the circumstances of the incident. It was previously reported that al-Leithi (37 years old) was involved in a horrific traffic accident in the city of Mallawi in Minya province on Thursday evening while returning from a wedding. The accident resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to seven others, including the singer himself, who fell into a coma after being transferred to Mallawi General Hospital and placed in the intensive care unit before passing away on Monday.
